The World Cosplay Summit Malaysia Solo Arc는 World Cosplay Summit Malaysia (WCS MY) 산하의 솔로 코스프레 퍼포먼스 대회입니다. 개인 코스플레이어에게 전용 경쟁 무대를 제공하여 그들의 기술, 개성, 창의성을 기리며, 솔로 퍼포머로서의 재능, 서사, 장인정신을 발휘할 수 있게 합니다.
Solo Arc는 코스플레이어들이 개인으로서 의상 제작과 라이브 퍼포먼스의 한계를 뛰어넘도록 격려합니다. 캐릭터 구현, 표현력 있는 무대 연기, 개인 스킷 디자인을 통해 개인적인 스토리텔링을 강조합니다.
Solo Arc는 또한 별도의 전용 솔로 플랫폼을 만들어 말레이시아의 경쟁 코스프레 씬을 확장합니다 — 압박감 속에서도 서로 지지하는 경쟁 환경에서 실력을 키우고 싶은 코스플레이어에게 이상적입니다.

WCS MY Solo Arc 시즌 1 종합 가이드라인
WCS MY Solo Arc Season 1 will be held in conjunction with NoizuCon 2026.
- Venue: Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC)
- Date: Sunday, 4th October 2026
- Format: Individual solo cosplay performance competition
- Slots: Limited to 15 (±5) confirmed participants
- Organiser: Thinkbig Sdn Bhd (Noizu Studio / WCS Malaysia)
- Participant must submit a completed registration form.
- Registration closes on 30th April 2026 at 11:59 PM GMT+8 — or when the first 15 (±5) participants confirm, whichever comes first.
- A RM 100 processing fee per participant is required (non-refundable). WCSMAP members receive a 50% fee waiver.
- All communications will be via email and an official WhatsApp participants group.
- All decisions by organisers, judges, and observers are final and binding.
Eligibility:
- Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of the competition.
- Must be a Malaysian citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Must hold a valid passport for international travel.
Skit Rules:
- Skits must be performed in English or Japanese. Other languages require subtitles or a translated script for judges in advance.
- The skit must prominently feature characters and elements from the chosen Japanese pop culture source. Significant deviations may result in point deductions.
- Skits must not exceed 150 seconds (2:30 min), plus 90 seconds setup/tear-down time.
- Skit performance can only be done ONCE. Redo is only permitted for technical audio/visual issues within the first 30 seconds.
- Performing in the audience area or outside of the stage is prohibited.
- Only 2 assistants are allowed backstage with each participant.
Cooldown Period: Solo Arc Champions must observe a 1-year cooldown period before participating, performing, or using their WCS MY skits in any WCS MY-driven events.
The following prizes will be awarded to outstanding participants of WCS MY Solo Arc:

- 🥈 Best Storytelling: RM 500
- 🥉 Best Performance: RM 500
Additional awards and sponsored prizes may be introduced, subject to sponsor participation and confirmation.
Participant Selection: Participants will be selected based on eligibility, rule compliance, and alignment with competition standards. The Organizer reserves the right to approve or decline any application at its discretion.
Guidelines for Participants: Participants must adhere to instructions provided by organisers and crew to ensure a seamless competition experience.
Promotional Use of Footage: The WCS Malaysia Organization retains the right to use footage and images of participants for promotional purposes.
Liability Statement: The World Cosplay Summit Malaysia Organization is not responsible for any injuries or losses that may occur during the event.
Disqualification Notice: The Organization reserves the right to disqualify participants found in violation of the rules.
Changes or Amendments: The organiser reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the rules & regulations. Only registered contestants and stakeholders will be notified. All changes will be vetted through WCSMAP for peer review.
Judges must meet one or more of the following qualifications:
- Alumni of WCS Japan (WCS JP)
- Individuals associated with WCS JP
- Professionals in cosplay performing arts, as recognised by the WCS MY IP organiser
Judges are not authorised to impose penalties unilaterally — they may only recommend penalties to observers.
Observers (2 appointed): Oversee compliance. They have no influence on judging decisions but ensure adherence to competition rules. Empowered to issue penalties and vet/approve/deny participation. Their decisions are final and binding.
Overseers (optional): Association with WCS Japan required. No authority to comment on or influence judging or outcomes.
- Respect: Treat all participants, organisers, and community members with respect, courtesy, and kindness.
- Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment embracing diversity.
- Ethical Practices: Conduct yourself ethically both online and offline, upholding fairness, integrity, and honesty.
- Community Engagement: Actively contribute to the growth of the cosplay community in a positive manner.
- Privacy and Consent: Respect others' privacy and personal boundaries.
- Positive Contribution: Support fellow participants and organisers, promoting positivity within the community.
- Avoid Negative Posting: Refrain from negative or harmful communication about WCS MY or affiliated programs.
- Collaboration: Work cooperatively with community members in a respectful and creative manner.
- Adherence to Community Standards: Comply with all guidelines set by the WCS MY Organiser.
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in penalties or disqualification.

- Performance duration: up to 2 minutes 30 seconds.
- Scoring is out of 100 points (Storytelling 40, Performance 40, Costume 10, Wow Factor 10).
- AI-generated materials are strictly prohibited.
- Minimum age: 18 years old.

Total Score: A scale of 100 points.
Average Score Calculation: The average score is determined by excluding the highest and lowest jury scores. The final classification is based on the combined score.
Tie Resolution: In the event of a tie, rankings are determined at the discretion of the judges during deliberation.
Digital Scoring: Judges will use the WCS MY App to conduct all scoring. A full audit trail will be made available in the event of disputes.
Final Decision: The grand champion is selected based on a combination of total scores and judges' deliberations.
Storytelling (40 pts): Quality and accomplishment of the performance's narrative execution.
- Narrative clarity within limited time
- Clear structure: beginning → progression → resolution
- Emotional arc, intent, and storytelling impact
- Faithfulness to the essence of the character
Action & Stage Performance (40 pts): Ability to execute action, movement, and stage presence as a solo performer.
- Physical expressiveness and body control
- Choreography, movement quality, and timing
- Effective use of stage space
- Ability to command attention as a solo performer
Costume (10 pts): How effectively the costume integrates with character portrayal and performance theme.
Wow Factor (10 pts): Exceeding expectations — memorable moments, innovative ideas, strong audience engagement.
Costume Inspection (backstage):
- A close-up inspection is conducted backstage by the judges.
- Judges evaluate fine details of costume and overall craftsmanship.
- Observers inspect costumes and props for rule compliance.
Performance Judging (on stage):
- Judges evaluate staging, expressiveness, creativity, and entertainment through a maximum 2:30-minute performance.
- Skit performance can only be done ONCE.
- Redo is only permitted for technical audio/visual issues within the first 30 seconds.
- Performing in the audience area or outside the stage is prohibited.

Stage Parameters: Minimum 20' × 30' stage. LED screen 12' × 24' minimum. 20-minute dry runs scheduled in advance.
- Store-bought or commissioned costumes are allowed. Previous costumes may be reused.
- Must be based on characters from anime, manga, video games, or Japanese pop culture.
- Must allow safe, free movement — avoid bulky or hazardous designs.
- AI-generated materials are strictly prohibited.
- Logos or illustrations from WCS or other IPs are prohibited unless given written permission.
- Metal, sharp edges, or projectiles are strictly prohibited.
- Forbidden materials: powder, smoke, water, small confetti, or open flame.
- Large confetti (≥2 cm) may be used (max 100 pieces).
- No external power — only battery-operated effects allowed.
- Pre-approval required for special effects, lasers, or strong light sources.
- Must be copyright-free or self-produced.
- Video can be in Japanese or English only.
- Dubbing in unrecognisable Japanese will be rejected.
- English subtitles are required for all dialogue.
- Video format: 1080p (1920×1080), 16:9, MP4/MOV, ≥192 kbps stereo.
- Copyrighted audio, dialogue, or logos require official licence or written permission.
An LED screen will be available on stage — prepare your background video in advance and test it at rehearsal.
- Prop & Weapon Inspection: All props must be submitted for inspection during the mandatory rehearsal session before competition.
- Prop Size & Weight: Must be of a reasonable size and weight for safe handling. Excessively large or heavy props may face additional scrutiny.
- Materials: Must be constructed from lightweight, non-hazardous materials. Metal props, sharp edges, or any risk-posing material are strictly prohibited.
- Blunt & Non-Functional Edges: Edges must be blunt and non-functional. Any sharp or pointed edges must be dulled or capped.
- No Live Ammunition: Live ammunition, explosive devices, or projectile-launching devices are strictly prohibited. This includes firearms and airsoft guns.
- Compliance with Local Laws: All props must comply with Malaysian laws and regulations.
- On-Stage Handling: Demonstrate responsible, controlled handling. Actions endangering oneself or others are strictly prohibited.
- Special Effects & Pyrotechnics: Must be pre-approved by event organisers. A licensed technician is mandatory for any approved effects.
- Reporting Concerns: Report concerns to event staff. Organisers will investigate promptly.
- Immediate Disqualification: Any violation of the Weapons Policy may result in immediate disqualification.
- Organiser Discretion: Event organisers reserve the right to make final judgments regarding prop suitability.

WCS MY Solo Arc is a specialized performance division under World Cosplay Summit Malaysia. It is not a simplified or lesser competition — judging standards remain strict, with emphasis placed on solo storytelling and stage mastery.
Participants must be Malaysian citizens or Permanent Residents, aged 18 and above by the competition date, with a valid passport for international travel.

We strongly encourage participants to prepare a background video to enhance their stage presentation. An LED screen will be present on stage, giving you the opportunity to elevate your storytelling, atmosphere, and overall impact.
