About the Competition
WCS MY 2027 is a duo cosplay performance competition where two cosplayers work together to deliver a 3-to-5-minute stage performance. Each pair is judged on costume craftsmanship, stage presence, choreography, and character accuracy. The winning pair earns the honour of representing Malaysia at WCS 2027 in Nagoya — an all-expenses-paid trip to compete against cosplayers from over 40 nations.

Competition Format
Each entry must consist of exactly two (2) cosplayers performing as a pair. Characters from anime, manga, games, or tokusatsu are eligible. Solo entries are not accepted under this championship — see WCS MY Solo Arc for the solo category.
- Entry: 2 cosplayers (pair)
- Performance duration: 3 – 5 minutes on stage
- Source material: Anime, manga, video game, or tokusatsu characters only
- Venue: Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC)
- Date: Sunday, 4 October 2026
Eligibility
- Must be a Malaysian citizen or permanent resident
- Both pair members must be 15 years of age or older on event day
- Must not have previously represented Malaysia at the World Cosplay Summit
- Costumes must be primarily handmade by the participants themselves

Judging Criteria
All entries are evaluated by a panel of expert judges including international WCS representatives and established cosplay professionals.
- Costume Craftsmanship (30%) — construction quality, accuracy, and detail
- Stage Performance (30%) — choreography, synchronisation, and charisma
- Character Accuracy (20%) — faithfulness to source material
- Overall Presentation (20%) — storytelling, impact, and audience connection
